The Story Behind The Image:

Our spontaneous nature beckons us to venture out into unchartered areas of the wilderness and we’re often rewarded for doing so.  

We travelled over 6300 km during a three week expedition in pursuit of the elusive Canada Lynx, otherwise coined the “Shadow of the Forest.” With the amount of miles driven, we could have made it to Disneyland and back!

After enduring early mornings, -39 temperatures and snow scaling up to our waist, we were gifted the opportunity to snowshoe with a family of five lynx as they pursued a snowshoe hare.

We were witness to their military-style hunting techniques and observed as they worked together to successfully trap the hare after a fevered chase.

This was our National Geographic moment, etched in memory.
